Ford Econoline Extended Warranty

The Ford Econoline is well-known on American roads as one of three full-sized vans produced by the three major automotive companies in the United States. The Econoline was available as a barebones cargo van or a passenger van that seated up to 12 passengers in standard-wheelbase form and up to 15 passengers in its extended-wheelbase form. The Econoline was also available with a wide array of six- and eight-cylinder engines, including a few that ran on diesel fuel. These vast choices in configurations and engines offered an amazing amount of flexibility and options for owners. The Econoline continues production under the “E-Series” name.

The Ford Econoline and other similar vehicles are often sold with new-car or limited warranties. While these warranties offer plenty of coverage for mechanical repairs, these warranties only last for a set amount of time, usually for a few years and for a certain amount of miles. After these warranties expire, owners often left with having to deal with the out-of-pocket expenses that come with having their vehicles repaired outside of their warranty coverage.

Engine and transmission repairs are often the most expensive types for owners to deal with on their own. Having an engine replaced or rebuilt can cost up to thousands of dollars in parts and labor. Same goes for a transmission replacement, which could cost even more depending on parts availability and the expertise required to replace or repair these transmissions. Other parts that prove costly to replace outside of warranty coverage include water pumps, timing chains, alternators and air-conditioning components.

Having an extended warranty makes replacing these parts much easier on your wallet. Instead of having to deal with the out-of-pocket expenses that come with such repairs, you only have to pay a deductible on your warranty coverage takes care of the rest. In addition to coverage for most powertrain-related repairs, you also get other perks such as 24-hour roadside assistance, free-of-charge car rentals and the ability to choose the service center at which your vehicle will be repaired. Extended warranties are essential for having your vehicle repaired and put back on the road at a significantly lower cost to you.
